Wonderful Eyes

Windows to the soul, or so they say.
And I can't disagree, try as I may.
For when I look at those brown eyes of yours,
My pulse starts racing, my thoughts start to soar.

I know it's silly, just lovesick thinking.
Imagination finds pointless linking.
They're tools of the brain; that none can refute.
Only two biological attributes.

But then, when our gazes suddenly meet,
My heart can't help but skip a few beats.
It seems that I'm falling, I can't resist.
While everything else ceases to exist.

I mumble and blush, forget what to say.
My breath comes in spurts, then is taken away.
I hope it comes as no surprise,
You've captured me, with your wonderful eyes.

Long Distance

Optimism, Promises, Hope,
Farewell.
Longing, Phone calls, Texting,
Time tells.
Struggling, Forced smiles, Push on,
Slight pain.
Busy lives, No time, Lonliness,
Strain.
Confusion, Hopeless, Bitterness,
Fears.
Jealousy, Sleepless nights, Heartbreak,
Tears.
Depression, Silence, Numbness,
Despair.
Move on, Drift away, Forget,
Unfair.
